Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC)
Required for your Non-Restricted PAL
The CFSC is the mandatory training course required by the RCMP to obtain a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for non-restricted firearms — including rifles and shotguns. This is the starting point for every new firearm owner in Canada.

What You'll Learn

The course concludes with both a written knowledge test and a practical handling exam, administered by your certified instructor. Results are submitted directly to the RCMP for your PAL application.

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)
Required for your Restricted PAL
The CRFSC is the additional training course required to obtain a Restricted PAL, allowing you to own restricted firearms including handguns and certain semi-automatic rifles. It is commonly taken on the same day as the CFSC.
